“The greatest legacy you could ever leave your children or your loved ones is the history of how you felt.”
It allows us to reach out to people, to touch them with our innermost fears, hopes, disappointments, victories. To reach out to people we’ll never meet. ~ Simon Van Booy
5 generations of women. From a Great-GREAT Grandmother, to a 7 month old baby girl. The stories between them could likely keep another generation entertained for all time. What a rare and wonderful opportunity it was to be able to capture the story of their relationships as part of a celebration for Great-GREAT Grandma’s birthday.
I can only hope that one day I will be the Great-GREAT Grandmother in a family portrait collection like this one day. That my daughter, and maybe grand daughter will be able to tangibly cherish photographs of each of us long after I am gone. Hopefully leaving a legacy of fearlessly pursuing relationships with them. Stories of our hopes and fears written down so that they can celebrate their victories. That the collection of these, might tell the story to those I might never have the privilege of meeting. Connecting each of us through generations, that although life may not look the same for each of us, we have both loved and lost, mourned and celebrated, and through that, the story of our family will live on.
Thanks for stopping by to view a few of my personal favorites from their portrait session. Be sure to leave them some love in the comments below.
