Alicia & Adam’s NYC surprise engagement | Angelsea Urban | Lifestyle Engagement Photographer

It’s that time again. Where I write a little something about the people who I’ve photographed and their story behind the images I’ve taken. Only this time the story unfolded IN the images. As my friend Alicia was surprised with a NYC proposal by her long time beau, Adam.

Rewind.

So Alicia and I have chatted about “the day” that Adam would have hopefully proposed to her. Where, how, when, what she’ll wear, what he’ll be wearing, what they’ll be doing. Ya know, the usual. So when Adam contacted me via another friend about photographing their proposal I nearly jumped out of my skin!  I was SOOOO excited that I got to be there to witness it, and even more excited to be involved in it. HOW IN THE WORLD was I supposed to keep this secret?

Thanks to our mutual service in Pursuit 31 and in sharing the same occupation in photography (CLICK HERE TO SEE ALICIA’S AMAZING WORK) it’s no wonder our friendship fast forwarded so quickly. It’s hard to imagine how different life was like a year ago!

Needless to say, even though I knew it was coming, I totally cried behind the lens when I saw Adam get down on one knee. The suspense for the hour leading up to that moment was intense. Steve was helping me toggle text messages between Karen, Tiffany and I as we waited on baited breath for Adam and Alicia to come around the corner. When finally it was over, Adam and I took in a sigh of relief!

Alicia was totally surprised to see me too – when Adam finally alerted her to “some people on the balcony taking our pictures”. In our “Laverne & Shirley” giddy embrace she showed me her rock and we began to fill her in on the behind the scenes that led up to that moment.

After an impromptu mini photo shoot walking the streets of NYC, we ate, we drank, and we celebrated.

Congratulations to Alicia & Adam! “May your marriage be even more beautiful than your wedding”, and May God Richly Bless Your Lives Together!

XOXO,

COMING SOON | Photographer’s BUSINESS TOOLBOX | Angelsea Urban

After speaking at the Pursuit 31 Conference this year, I’ve had a lot of requests to offer a few simplified products for  photographers to use in aiding them with managing the financial side of their business. As a photographer, I understand your lack of excitement when it comes to daily number crunching. I really do. Who wants to be dealing with receipts and deductions when we can be out in the field with glorious light and fun people? Booooring…..

But as a business consultant, I understand that this is a vital part of  your business. By utilizing tools to help you understand and simplify your business, you are able to do more of what you love.

Create.

The personalized services that I normally offer to small and medium sized business have different needs than the budding business owner in a creative field such as photography.

*SO I HAVE SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED A SIMPLIFIED  READY-TO-GO PROGRAM FOR PEOPLE. JUST. LIKE. YOU!

Giving you fast and efficient ways to track your business finances, client workflows and product costs.

For those who were in my class at the Pursuit 31 Conference: THANK YOU. For years I wore two hats, one for my photography clients, and the other for my business clients.  It’s been a refreshing change to be able to help my fellow creatives save time and energy with a simplified bookkeeping and financial management process.

ANNNNND – Merging Farm Animals and The Beatles to Taxes and QuickBooks training has always been a dream of mine. 😉

Special thanks goes to Kathy Azar, who trusted me enough to test this pilot program out on her beginning many moons ago and really encouraged me to step out in this new direction. And of course,  Karen Stott, who forced me to marry these two worlds together that had been kept apart for far too long.

Zeevalk Family Fall Session | Angelsea Urban New Jersey Lifestyle Family Photographer

Sleeping in the car until the very last second, this cutie pie woke up bright and bubbly and irresistibly precious.

She had me at the pigtails.

And then the little lion she was dragging around by a string behind her.

And then she giggled…..oh my presh.

I squealed along with her as each kiss she blew over to her mommy and daddy had us all giggling.

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect way to end this seasons fall sessions.

XOXO,
